Card for Kathy R.

My dear friend Kathy is recovering from surgery so  I made her this card with the new "Just Because Cards" cartridge.  I had to make the whale a girl so I added the flower from the "grow" card (#29).  The whale is a very fancy Orca since she is cut with glitter and foil papers!  I cut all the elements at 4 1/4" but didn't cut the card, I just layered everything on a white card stock card.  I also added lots of bling and a silver ribbon.  Feel better my friend, I'm praying for you!

Pink Stamper Pink-Green-Black Challenge

Hi, Robyn at My Pink Stamper (see the button on this page) is hosting a challenge today!  I made this bird banner card with the new Give a Hoot Cartridge and of course one of the my pink stamper stamps!  Thanks!

Sunglasses card

Hello!  I took a little creativity break and now I'm back in the craft room making cards.  This one has no real theme except I wanted to make the sunglasses on the Paisley cartridge.  The paper is DCWV and I used stickles and bling on the sunglasses and over the Papertrey Ink Sentiment.  I also cuttlebugged the background paper.  As I write I realize I must have been missing my craft tools because I used them all on this card!  LOL!

Sweet Treats Challenge

So with my second entry I am now a veteran of challenges!  Here is my entry for the BBTB2 Sweet Treats challenge.  We were to use the cake 2 cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge.  I actually had a lot of trouble with the layers so I did my own thing and cut my "own" layers.  The frosting is rick rack and I have some stickles on the candle flame so it sparkles...Thanks!

I have a card featured on the 3 birds blog!

Wow I'm honored!  The anniversary card I made for my Mom and Dad is featured on the 3 birds blog here:
http://3birdsdesign.blogspot.com/2010/03/bird-spotting-1.html.  3 birds partnered with Cricut to make the art work for the new Straight from the Nest cartridge that is now available on HSN.   The cartridge is amazing and I think will be a true favorite.  Thanks!

Card for a Hero!

On my previous post I linked you to Operation Write Home.  This is where you can make cards for the troops to send home to their loved ones.  This organization also collects cards that you would write directly to a service man or woman.  Here is the one I made.  I used the Stand and Salute cartridge which I purchased on sale at Big Lots.  I also used the cuttlebug stars folder on the red layer.

Sample of my first cards for Operation Write Home

Mary at http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com/ posted a link to the Operation Write Home site on her blog so I went and checked it out and immediately knew this was something I wanted to support.  Here is the link http://operationwritehome.org/.  I'm getting ready to ship my first set of cards and I can't tell you how good it feels to show love by making cards for heros!  Here is a sample of a couple of cards I made with the Hannah Montana cartridge Monarch butterfly.  God bless our heros!

Get Well Larry

My brother in law had a health scare this week so I made him this card.  I used Mariposa papers and Hannah Montana cartridge for the font.  I don't know if this is really a successful card but it's more important to get this in the mail so he knows I'm wishing him well.  I will say, it is prettier in person!

My first entry into a challenge!

I made this card for the Bbtb2 challenge. I've never entered a challenge before but one of the ladies whose blog I follow suggested I participate so I thought I'd give it a go. Hopefully I understood the instructions well enough! Here is the link to the challenge http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/ and here is the link to the fabulous Enfys whose blog gives me so much inspiration http://going-buggy.blogspot.com/ and is always good for a giggle. I used the flourish 3 from the SYI to make this little gate card. I also used a My Pink Stamper stamp for the cupcake; both her sets stay out continuously on my desk. I have to say, this challenge made me look at my cartridge differently and I'm really glad I gave it a whirl.

Card for Earl

I'm still pretty new to the Cricut and my cartridge library tends to be composed of the newer cartridges but I've seen so much chatter about Stretch Your Imagination lately that I picked it up on ebay last week.  I am so glad I did!  Great cartridge!   Here is a card I made for my friend Earl who is moving to St Louis this week.  Inside says "Enjoy your new nest," and again I made it with the scraps I had on my table, this time I have no idea what these papers are from but I like how it turned out!

Card with scraps

Hello!  I am a new follower of Capadia designs at http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/.  She did a whole series of really cute cards with scraps.  So I challenged myself to make a card with the scraps on my table (I thought it would "encourage" me to clean up my desk as well!  Anyway, here is the first scrap card.  The papers are primarily SEI and I used the Accent Essentials cartridge to cut the flower.  I'm sending this to my friend Mary who is having some health issues.  Love you Mary!!!!

Card for Dad

Dad is having surgery tomorrow so I made a little quick card to wish him luck. The 4 leaf clover is made with Designer Calendar and glitter paper. Everything else is odds and ends from my stash that I thought were both cheerful and masculine. The stamp is one of those $1 stamps from Michaels.  I also added my signature bling; I do like adding these stones to everything! Hopes this card brings him good luck!!!

Card for Everyday Cricut

I was lucky enough to win a set of the limited edition spring cartridges from the ladies at Everyday Cricut.  And yes, they set me a gorgeous hand made card along with the cartridges!  So my Mama raised me right and I made this thank you card today.  I admit I was so nervous sending these pros my card, but my blog is show love-make cards, not show love- make perfect cards!  Anyway I made this with the Mother's Day cartridge, cuttlebug, and DCWV paper.  I think it conveys my true thanks for a generous gift!

Card for Dad

Mom, Dad and Steve gave me the sweet treats cartridge for Christmas.  I love it!  Dad is in the hospital so I thought I'd make a quick card to take with me when I visit him today.  He likes pistachio ice cream so that's why I used the green.  I thought the brown looked like chocolate and nuts.  The cone I thought looked like a waffle cone (his favorite) I used DCWV paper, from the Crafty and Indian Summer packs.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper, those stamps have never been put away, I keep using them!  Love you Dad, feel better soon!

Whoo Hoo!!! I'm a winner!

I''m a winner on the newly redesigned awesome blog "Everyday Cricut" check them out you can't help but be inspired!  They have great giveaways and I start my days reading their latest posts.

Card for Beth

This is a card from a Basic Grey card class kit - Indian Summer.  Beth is a crafter so I wanted to send her a "fancy" card.  Sometimes the best way to do that is to use a kit.  This kit is great!  I changed hardly anything to make a beautiful birthday card for a loved sister-in-law.

Card for Larry

I love these carp on the Pagoda cartridge and when I found this "scaly" paper I thought I'd see what I could come up with.  Yea, it's a little out there but I like it!  The background paper is from DCWV and is a pool background, the carp are from a mat stack from My Mind's Eye.  I did another large carp inside the card because I loved it so much!  The asian symbol is Harmony which I also stamped on the face of the card.  It's good to stretch now and then.

Mini album for Hillary

Mary at cardztv demo'd a toliet paper roll album around Christmas time.  I thought it looked like fun so here is my version.  I used a paper pack from me and my big ideas that has a tropical feel.  The tags I cut with sweet treats.  It was really fun to make this, made me feel like a kid again!

Card for Zack

March is a busy month!  Here is a card for my nephew, he loves science so I used some old Club Scap paper with a science theme and I cut out the wavy card on the Wild Card cartridge.  I used both liners and did the wave icon twice and stacked the black on some gold to really have it pop.  Inside sentiment from the same club scrap collection.

Card for Kathleen

Simple card for my sister in law.  I used the left overs from my SEI mini-kit for January and Pink Stamper stamps for the sentiment.  The lace was punched with Martha Stewart punches.  It's girly, blingy and pink!  All things Kathleen loves!

Card for Gary

Here is a card for my brother Gary.  Gary is a great poker player so I thought the card theme would be fun for him.  I stamped the cards with some older Club Stamp stamps, cuttlebuged the diamond pattern on to the background and used the cricut stamped cartridge to cut out the letters.  I also glimmer misted the letters since I bought the bottle at CHA and hadn't used it yet.

CHA Rocked!

I had a blast at CHA, I met the Pink Stamper and purchased both her stamp sets and her new DVDs, and I subscribed to SEI's mini-kit and have spent happy hours on a mini-album. I became very intrigued by Cricut Cake (darn my love hate relationship with cake) Now just have to get over the tech hurdles and post some pictures but I'm having a ball and that's all that matters!

Game on!

Best of intentions-harder than it looks!

So I made some cute cards for birthdays but had a camera issue and had to mail them before I could get a picture. Something is starting to tell me that all these ladies that make maintaining a blog look so graceful have more than just their creative talents; they are tech-savvy as well! Okay, I will persevere! I have my ticket to the CHA next week. I'm lucky I'm local. Hopefully that inspires me to get this figured out.

Have a wonderful day!
